Electrical Supervisor – Utilities

Location: Dublin office (Hybrid – split between site and office)

Our client has been delivering public lighting solutions nationwide for over 40 years. Specialising in public lighting, sports lighting and bespoke monument lighting, they work with leading national and international lighting manufacturers to provide a complete service tailored to suit clients' requirements.

They are seeking an Electrical Supervisor to work on large infrastructural projects. Your base will be in the Dublin office, with responsibility for the delivery of large electrical-related contracts. You will ensure that project activities are planned, assigned and costed in line with projected budgets and timelines.

The Role

You will be responsible for providing direction and management to Electrical crews and specialist subcontractor teams delivering street furniture and cabling works. The role will ensure teams operate effectively and contribute to the overall success of the business, while ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual requirements, agreed standards, programme timelines and budget expectations.

The role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement, with time split between site visits and office-based work depending on project requirements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Actively promote a positive safety culture; monitor and control team safety performance to ensure all Company and customer safety rules and procedures are applied by staff and contractors
  • Plan, organise, monitor and control the team to ensure full and effective use is made of resources at all times and the work plan is achieved within budget and in accordance with Company policies and procedures
  • Manage the team’s efforts to ensure that all agreed SLAs, goals and delivery commitments are met
  • Liaise with clients, sub-contractors and service providers as necessary to ensure completion of works in a safe, cost-effective and responsive manner
  • Provide support to your team in achieving business and company goals and targets
  • Guide the team on reviewing project performance and identifying and implementing opportunities for improvement

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 years' operational experience within Electrical Contracting or a similar contracting environment
  • Broad understanding of health, safety and risk awareness
  • Good knowledge of the contracting industry
  • Strong organisational, planning and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant company systems
  • Ability to balance client requirements, commercial priorities and effective resource allocation to deliver projects on time and within budget

Desirable

  • Knowledge of electrical or civil standards
  • Third-level qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in contract awareness, financial control and project management
